The West Bengal Minorities' Commission observed Minorities’ Rights Day, 2014 at 01:30 p.m. at Sisir Mancha, Kolkata with the theme, “Role of Minorities’ in Present India”. The topic was further sub-divided and the guests delivered short speeches on the each sub-topics.

               The guests who delivered speeches were:-

1.           Mr. Firhad Hakim, Hon’ble MIC, Municipal Affairs & Urban Development Department, Government of West Bengal,

2.           Janab Jawed Ahmed Khan, Hon’ble MIC, Fire & Emergency Services and Civil Defence Department, Government of West Bengal.

3.           Janab Giasuddin Molla, Hon’ble MOS, MA&ME Department, Government of West Bengal.

4.           Mr. Sahidul Islam, IAS, Secretary, MA&ME Department, Government of West Bengal

Other dignitaries also attended the programme.

There was an assembly inside the auditorium of about 350 comprising all six religious communities.
